OPRAH WINFREY AND STEPHEN COLBERT TAKE TURNS MOCKING GOD, JESUS AND THE BIBLE ON THE LATE SHOW

Now we know that Stephen Colbert is an atheist in addition to being a hardcore Hollywood Liberal, so we don't expect much out of him. I will say, though, that even this surprised me. But Oprah Winfrey talks constantly about her 'relationship with God', and says she 'absolutely knows His Voice' when she hears it. Yet, somehow, this woman who claims to be a Christian, thought it was great sport to mock and trivialize the very God who created her, on national television, over something like a run for political office.

GOD WAS PRESENTED, IN ANIMATED FORM, AS A JIM CARREY-ESQUE HALLUCINATION FLASHING GANG SIGNS AND SHOCKED TO KNOW THAT HE WAS KNOWN BY SOMEONE SO FAMOUS AS OPRAH WINFREY.

“But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof: I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh; When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you. Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me: For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD:” Proverbs 1:25-29 (KJV)

The other night on the Stephen Colbert show, Colbert discussed with guest Oprah Winfrey the possibility of her running for president in 2020. Winfrey famously said not too long ago that if she were to run for president, she would need a ‘sign from God’.

“I went into prayer,” she said of the calls and speculation around a possible run for president. “I had people – wealthy, billionaires – calling me up and saying, ‘I can get you a billion dollars. I can run your campaign’,” she told US magazine People. “That many people saying something made me think, ‘Am I at least supposed to look at the question?’”

She went on to say: “God, if you think I’m supposed to run, you gotta tell me, and it has to be so clear that not even I can miss it. And I haven’t gotten that yet”.

So on The Late Show, Colbert produced ‘God’ as an animation on the ceiling of the studio, urging Winfrey to run for president. What followed next was mockery of God, Jesus Christ and the Bible on a level I can’t say I ever remember seeing before.

God was presented, in animated form, as a Jim Carrey-esque hallucination flashing gang signs and shocked to know that He was known by someone so famous as Oprah Winfrey. Colbert’s ‘god’ says things like “Oh wow, Oprah knows who I am?? I can’t wait to tell Jesus!”.
